Thanks for pulling together a site that does a really good job of demonstrating the products and services you offer so that people can get an idea of what the new PopeRepair is all about. Any man who can manage to keep their cat sitting in a French Horn bell for any length of time for a photo op has to be on the ball. Best, LD

I just got back from a plane trip with the MB7 case that I bought from you
last week. Your experienced advice helped me a lot in deciding to buy
it so I thought you might find a testimonial useful.
The triple fits just fine. A little snug, as you said, but nothing to
worry about. I can fit my Balu cone mute in the case, but have chosen
not to–just a little too snug. Though I have a feeling that after the
case “wears in” a little more, it will fit comfortably as well.
I recently took a trip in which I flew 4 legs, all on CRJ jets.
First flight was a 2+2 with good sized overheads. The case fit
exactly (NO room for error, but just enough).
The next two flights were 2+2 as well, but had a slightly smaller
overhead. Didn’t fit. I put it under the seat for both flights. Placed
sideways it doesn’t project into my footroom, but does project into my
neighbor’s. Turned the other way it fits width no problem, but
projects into my footspace a bit. Still, luckily no problems. Though I
could imagine a picky attendant causing trouble.
However, on the final flight, which was the 1+2 but with the same bin
as the smaller 2+2s, I had one of those “duh” moments. This was the
slightly smaller overhead. It is the same depth bin as the larger one
but with a slight slope in the rear of the bin which keeps the case
from going in. It took me that final flight to realize that if I turn
the case around, the slight slope of the front of the case exactly
matches the slight slope of the rear of the bin and the case, once
again, fits perfectly. “Duh”.
I have a feeling it was wise to pick the 7 vs. the 6. I honestly
believe that even the extra 1/2 inch of the 6 might cause it not to
fit. But, for now anyway, the 7 is perfect. And never a second glance
from any flight officials.
Well, that may be more than you wanted to know, but thought maybe you
could use that advice for those who, like myself, don’t always get to fly out
of major airports.
