The table below lists a small number of the jobs currently available. I am set up to do all jobs on horns – from simple dent removal to manufacturing of custom parts. Pope Instrument Repair is a one person shop – I am the only person that does the work on your horn.
Ultrasonic Cleaning: Complete disassembly, replace waterkey corks, pull frozen slides, ultrasonically clean. Grease, oil, and thoroughly check and play test $125.00

Complete Valve Rebuild: Copper plate all rotors, fit to casing thoroughly, final plating is a semi-brite nickel finish. Tighten all bearings, machine as necessary. Tighten all slides, replace springs and bumpers. Ultrasonically clean $750.00
For set of 4 valves
Valve Service: Machine/fit all bearings and bearing plates. Replace springs and waterkey corks, tighten slides & ultrasonically clean. Lubricate and playtest $275.00
Detachable Bell Conversion: Convert to detachable bell – (Lawson/Alexander, Yamaha, Schmid rings) $450.00
Rotor Replacement: Manufacture new rotors – fit to casing. Adjust bearings. Ultrasonically clean $750.00/4 valves (currently only available for Elkhart 8D’s)
Custom Leadpipe: pipemake, bend and install custom leadpipe. (Pope-Phelan Pipe) $650.00
Amado Waterkey: Install Amado Waterkey (in the correct place – I’ve seen many incorrectly installed!) – price includes waterkey $35.00
